If it's not true… It certainly seems to ring true. And enjoyable story I hope and wish that there have been and are more experiences like this.
It seems the author is being honest and I appreciate all the information. I just wish he could have been able to communicate better with Kong. How hard it must have been to not be able to share this with anyone.
I enjoyed the first person style of writing. You don't get a personnal account of peaceful human homonid interaction very often. I wouldn't recommend just anyone trying it.
this was a good read to cross reference with Enoch by Autumn Williams (as was her suggestion). Comparing the experiences/interactions gives the reader insight into differences between Sasquatch peoples and individuals.
This is one of the best bigfoot books I have ever read. It was presented in a very straightforward manner with no flashiness. I felt that the author was very sincere. Some of the story seemed a little far-fetched but I felt the author did her best to relay the stories as they were told. A good read and really makes you think.
Fascinating in many ways and entertaining to read with swings from casual details that seem very real to other passages that seem fantastic. The reader will likely have a difficult time sorting what seems probable from what stretches the imagination. Overall, an entertaining read with a sense of awe and sense of humor as well. I couldn't put it down and still puzzle over it.
The Creature Personal Experiences With Bigfoot is an interesting book. It is the first-hand, personal account of one man's experiences with a Bigfoot while living in a cabin during the time he and his wife are taking time away from each other to reflect on their marriage. What I liked about this book is the same as what I did not like. The Creature is unique. The writer spent a lot of time interacting directly, close enough to touch and even give Kong, the name he gave to the Bigfoot, a ride in his car. Kong came around to eat apples and became friendly but not tame. The writer's wife, in the meantime, thinks the time the writer is spending up at their cabin is due to an affair he is having up there, but that is far from the truth. The writer goes on to describe Kong is good detail and offers up unique behavioral anecdotes such as how fast Kong can run, how well this 300 to 400 Bigfoot climbs trees and how powerful Kong is compared to himself yet Kong is for the most part gentle toward him. In addition, Clements, the writer, tried to protect Kong by driving him 200 miles away from the hunters around his cabin, but Kong turns up at his porch the next day apparently having traveled the 200 miles back to the cabin in roughly 24 hours. Kong is without a doubt a formidable physical specimen even at 300 to 400 pounds and roughly 7 feet tall.
What I did not like about The Creature is that there is no way to verify what the author wrote actually happened and was true. I do recommend The Creature, but with a grain of salt, or maybe a pound of salt.
In the end, the writer finds Kong curled up dead in the rain.
