I spent a couple of weeks reading all the books in this series, some for the first time, others after a few years in the back of my bookshelves. They are satisfying. Nothing profound, but the main characters stay interesting, and if you are looking for a paranormal romance with a slightly different twist (not vampire, not precisely werewolf either) and if you enjoy your fiction set in New Orleans I think you will enjoy these books.

This paranormal romance is a little different, it is not clean and tidy, all characters are flawed and traumatized and must live with that reality. The unapologetic love of Max and Cee Cee is what moves this story and what keeps the reader craving MORE. As one story unfolds, questions arise and go unresolved which is (I guess) focused on getting the reader ready for the next installment, well it worked and I want to know when my next Max and Cee Cee (M-Cee) fix will be supported.

I started with her most current book and had to read them all. The location - New Orleans, the characters - cops and shifters. Max and Cassie are hot in and out of bed. I recommend and have bought all of her moonlight books. If you like Carrie Vaughn or Lyndsay Sands, you will definately like this series.
I thought this was a great second book in this series. Max is still fierce yet somehow vulnerable. He makes me want to take him home and make him some soup. Charlotte is perfect for him. They both have their own baggage but always seem to care more about the other than themselves. If you liked Masked by Moonlight, this book won't disappoint you. I've already pre ordered the third installment and hope there more on the way.
I love this series. It just sucks you in and doesnt let go. This will be a reread for sure.
