Blame it on Texas Lone Star Cowboys Book 1 edition by Tori Scott Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Now this is how you do a Texas romance right. I loved Blame It on Texas from beginning to end and can't wait to start on the rest of the series! Megan was the perfect combination of independent and vulnerable, while Logan was in denial and stubborn. And the supporting characters -- Jean, Nancy, Katie, Carol and Jake -- were perfectly suited and well developed. The entire story was, for that matter, well developed. One of the things I respected most was Tori Scott's brilliant pacing and flow. Their story we a delicately woven tale that lasted over the span of several months. It was realistic and believable, as was their dialogue and thought process. I couldn't get enough of the emotions and tenderness that matched well with the family/friend dynamics, and the picturesque glimpse into southern life. Like I said, I can't wait to check out the rest of the series and read more about Jake and Carol!
Oh my goodness! I couldn't put this one down for a second. Scott mixes action and suspense alongside heartache and love to create a wonderfully complex experience for her audience. She captures the essence of a working ranch perfectly and wraps it up in a will-they-won't they tale like you've never seen before. Scott's descriptions are so vivid that she paints the ranch before you, allowing you to walk alongside the characters. Each and every moment is extremely real and poignant.

The conflicts between family duty and what an individual wants stand out starkly in this tale. It was a very unique and touching contrast. It is not just part of the story, but also part of who these characters are intrinsically. The main characters were such vivid and strong individuals, even if they were slightly misguided at times. It was both heartbreaking and heart-warming seeing them come to terms with who they were versus who they want to be. Their individual histories and combined present are so completely developed without sacrificing the storyline that you really get to know them. I also thoroughly enjoyed the minor characters in the novel. You really get a feel for this entire community. I really can't wait to get to know them better throughout the series.

Scott had me in tears and squealing for joy throughout. This was the perfect mix of everything. It may have been my introduction to Scott's work, but it definitely won't be my last foray into the wonderful world that she has created.
This is a really good story. The hero is a little flawed but has potential He is divorced and wants custody of his 12 year old daughter. He has a successful business in Dallas and a very nice condo in a high rise in the city. The problem??? He is devoted to his job and has put it before everything else in his life.

Then suddenly his life changes. His father has a stroke and needs help with his care as well as the family farm. Since there are only two children, him and his sister, they move back to help him. It is the hero's worst nightmare. Living on a farm he hates in a town that he hates the life style, he is totally miserable. His sister is not happy about having to put her life on hold but she feels she has no choice but to help her dad and do whatever it takes to make him comfortable.

She has 3 friends from college that rally to help her. One friend, Meagan, is happy to move in and help take care of the father, help in the care with the 12 year old and do chores around the farm. This is her idea of heaven. She is a vet and this is the life she has always wanted. The hero has a lot of issues he needs to work through. Like most kids, he has a vision of his parents life that was not the way it really was. He is dealing with a nut job ex-wife and trying to get custody of his daughter. he has a lot on his plate.

The story was well written. It has hard to put down as you travel on this journey with the H&h. There is even a dog you will fall in love with. There is a HEA and it is entertaining to see how they overcome issues, fears, etc. and get to their ending. My heart breaks for Jake though!!!This was a good read.
Just finished this great book and I'm wiping tears of satisfaction and floating in that coveted ahhhh feeling. Wow, that was a roller coaster - at times I wanted to wring Logan's neck, and a few times I wanted to fuss at Megan for being stubborn, but all in all, it was a great story. I really felt like I was part of the little town of Morris Springs, and felt their joys and heartaches. I felt sorry for Logan, and kept wishing he would talk to someone about the load of guilt he insisted on carrying around - pray, or something. The way the end worked out was everything I was hoping for and more. The author really brought it all around...well, with the exception of two of the minor characters, who I hope will possibly get their own book, lol. Got this book free and am so glad I downloaded it. Going now to take a gander at and probably buy the next one in the series and hope it's as good. My only negatives would be the times they had premarital sex (that's a pet peeve of mine) and Logan could be a bit of a potty mouth, but at least the author refrained from F bombs and GDs, so I was thankful of that.
